My new little bro

Mum did a disappearing act at the beginning of this week and came back yesterday with another little boy. He is really quite tiny and nowhere near as loud as Nathan.

I was alowed to get a wee look and sniff at him today but from the looks of it, he wasn't too impressed!

The clippers

Dad has been talking about giving me a hair cut for a while now.... and today, I was treated to a close encounter with the clippers. Uncle RoJ was here too and was pretty amazed that I stayed still through the ordeal... he clearly doesn't know who's boss!

Still, after the clippers, scissors, thinners, brushes and combs were safely away and the hoover has been thrown around the lounge, I was looking pretty damn fine - even if I do say so...

If anybody needs a quick trim, I can thoroughly recommend him!

Football

A few weeks ago, Mum, Nathan and I were on our usual walk when I found something really exciting - a small red football! I carried it all the way home which took some doing -it's quite hard to run, sniff and carry something that size in your mouth.

Now that it is in our back garden, Dad sometimes comes out to play with me. Here is some photographic evidence that dogs can play football (though I think it should be named 'pawball')! You may be able to see that the football is not all there anymore. Did you really think I could resist having a nibble??

An old friend

Cara came round to play today with her Mum and Dad. She was a bit noisy at first, barking and growling at me, but she soon settled down. It's so much fun having a freind to play with (that is not only my size but has the same crazy mentality as me!) especially when we went for our walk :o) I hope we can play again soon!

Another injury

I'm sorry to say that I've once again injured myself and am on my sickbed. I'm glad to say though, that I am still at home and I'm not as sick as this time last year.

It all happened when I spring a fox from the bushes during a mid-afternoon walk - I sometimes try chasing the birds that I spring, but a fox... definitely worth a chase. As you can guess, I become completely deaf when I'm that excited and clearly wasn't concentration about where I was running.

I've managed to slash open two of the pads on my right from paw. There was blood everywhere and it was raining heavily. I had blood over all four paws and round my mouth when I limped back to Mum - I think she got a bit of a shock.

So... I'm on my sickbed... consigned to the front garden and grass - no walks, no rough play and definitely no ball chasing... rubbish.

Another screamer

Today I saw photographic evidence of something that I have suspected now for a wee while. We are going to get another screaming 'baby'. This is not good - I had hoped that the next addition to our family would be a wee pal or sister for me. Mum and Dad have talked often about getting a puppy called Poppy, but no, instead we are getting another child to pester me and steal my toys. At least I now know how to subtly steal it's socks and toys without Mum noticing.

Is nothing sacred

I've noticed that since the little one has arrived (and started growing at an alarming rate), we have had less quiet.

I'm not so bothered really, because I have my own little space and I'm quite happy relaxing and having a chew on one of my toys (or if I can mange it, one of his!).

Today though, marked a new stage in our relationship - he came crawling into my room and decided that it would be fun to take my toy. I was completely dumbfounded... I think he's trying to get his own back!
